I did not know what to expect when I started training and I have been surprised by the depth of knowledge that is required to really gain an understanding of tai chi. I know I am only just starting to get to grips with it but the more I learn the more I want to learn.Tai chi has had a very positive effect on my health. I am generally much fitter and feel healthier. I also have bad shoulders from spending hours at a time at a desk which used to ache. However, with regular practice of tai chi this has almost gone.
